iTero®️ Intraoral Scanner

We take pride in providing modern, high quality care so you can have the smile you deserve. We are constantly updating our equipment in order to provide patients with state-of-the-art dental care. One of our newest pieces of equipment is our iTero 3D scanner. It allows us to take images of your smile. We can also use it to show you the results you can get with Invisalign®.

The largest benefit of producing images with our scanner is that you won’t have to get impressions made, which can be quite unpleasant. You won’t have to deal with the unpleasant taste of the gooey material, or the discomfort of the molding trays. Instead, the scanning process is quite comfortable, and you can breathe normally during the procedure.

The iTero® Intraoral Scanner is a digital imaging system that captures highly accurate 3D images of your teeth and gums without the need for traditional impression materials.

A small handheld wand is moved over your teeth to capture thousands of images, which are combined into a detailed 3D model of your smile in just a few minutes.

Are digital scans more comfortable than traditional impressions?

Yes. Most patients find digital scans much more comfortable because they eliminate messy impression trays and reduce the chance of gagging.

How long does an iTero® scan take?

Most scans are completed in just a few minutes, depending on the complexity of your case.

Is the iTero® scanner safe?

Yes. The iTero® scanner uses light to create digital images and does not expose you to radiation.

What is the iTero® scanner used for?

It can be used for orthodontic treatment planning, clear aligners, retainers, crowns, bridges, and monitoring changes in your teeth over time.

Can I see my teeth during the scan?

Yes. The scanner creates a real-time 3D image of your mouth, allowing you and your orthodontist to view your teeth together and better understand your treatment plan.

Is the iTero® scanner accurate?

Yes. The scanner produces highly detailed digital models that help improve treatment planning and the fit of orthodontic appliances and dental restorations.

Does the iTero® scanner replace traditional impressions?

In many cases, yes. Digital scans can often replace traditional putty impressions for orthodontic treatment, retainers, and many dental restorations.

Can children have an iTero® scan?
